A tough yet achievable target

It is often said that to crack NEET 2023, one requires at least 1 year of dedicated preparation. It is indeed a tough task to prepare for NEET in just 6 months, but it is not impossible. With proper planning and dedication, one can definitely achieve this target.

It’s definitely a very challenging task to secure good rank in NEET in a short period of time , but it’s not impossible . There have been many students who became serious in the last 3 months of preparation and secured very good rank in the exam. If they can ,then why can’t u ?
Here are some most important steps through which you can bring out your maximum potential  and can do the best within the last limited days of your preparation . These strategies has been followed by  Neet toppers themselves and u can completely rely on them :-

1. Proper study schedule :-

Make a realistic and practical study plan which u can follow consistently till your last days of preparation. Give more time to your weak topics, but ensure studying  every subject daily , ensuring a balanced approach . Take timely breaks to maintain focus and prevent burnout .

 2. Study from limited resource - be NCERT centric :-

Numerous study modules and coaching study materials are present in the market in which many extra unnecessary informations are given which will just kill your time . Stick up to NCERT and revise it multiple times , because questions in the paper are directly picked up from NCERT lines . It’s better to study one book multiple times rather than studying multiple books one time.

 3. Master the high yield topics first :-

There are total of 79 chapters ( according to the new syllabus) and time left for preparation is very low so we have to play smart . Start studying the high yield topics for each subject and jump to the PYQs just after u completed the chapter . Following this strategy u can secure maximum marks in lowest time .

 4. Regular mock tests :-

Mock tests are the true mirror of your preparation . Analyse your result , give time to your weak areas and try improving them . Try to find a test series which focuses on making ncert and pyq based questions . Be honest with yourself while giving mocks .

 5. Revision :-

It’s the most important thing which u should definitely do during your preparation . The Neet syllabus is very vast and as an aspirant u need to memorise each and every concept and information and use them to solve question within a time limit of 3hr 20 mins . Revision is the one and only way through which u can memorise the concepts and informations and keep them on your fingertips .

 6. Make short notes :-

Short notes are going to be your best friend in your preparation . They will help you to revise the entire syllabus in very short period of time , so give enough time to make them  and make your own notes . Don’t copy notes from other coaching institutes, you know what you need to revise regularly and the topics which you often forget should be given more priority while making the short notes .

 7. Focus on the PYQs :-

As the time is very short , PYQs should be given the most priority when it comes to question practice . Solving PYQs will bring more clarity on that particular topic and will boost your confidence . It is also seen that PYQs have been repeated  in several years in Neet paper , sometimes directly and sometimes questions with same concept and approach comes in the paper. Try solving last 10-15 years of PYQs , it will boost your preparation a lot.

 8. Be healthy and stress free :-

Perform exercises for 20-30 mins daily , this will keep your body healthy and as you already know - a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Also focus on what you are eating , include fresh fruits and green vegetables in your daily diet and avoid eating junk food because they will make your brain slow and lazy .

 9. Ask for guidance from teachers :-

Don’t hesitate to seek guidance from experienced mentors and teachers , they can help you a lot in this journey , so share your problems and doubts with them and most importantly don’t feel shy while doing all these because it’s a part of your preparation .

10. Give time to Family :-

Spend some time with your family also , this will give relief and comfort to your brain and also you will get mental support which u will need a lot because time will come when you will not be scoring good marks in your mocks and you will be feeling low , this will be the time when your family will give you mental and emotional support . This is also true that not every parent support their children during preparation , specially if you are in your drop year , in this case you will have to keep your spirits high and you’ll have to be there for yourself and will have to study even harder . Process is really tough but the results will be much more than your expectations.

 11. Proper sleep routine :-

Fix your sleeping schedule, sleep for atleast  6-7 hours daily . Don’t ever do the mistake of compromising your sleep for studies because that’s not gonna give you good result as your brain needs proper amount of rest to memorise all the topics that you have studied .

12. Strategy for Physics :-

There is no time to watch complete video lectures , instead try completing your syllabus with one shots available on YouTube. Complete the high weightage chapters first such as Semiconductor Electronics: Materials, Devices and Simple Circuits, Current Electricity , Laws of motion , Magnetic Effects of Current & Magnetism, Ray Optics & Optical Instruments. Solve the PYQs  for concept clarity and then you are ready to go for Physics . Read the NCERT of Modern Physics once for sure . Make formula sheet for every chapters and revise and memorise them daily till your NEET . Just by remembering formulas and their use , you can easily score 80-100 marks in Physics as direct formula based simple questions are asked in the paper .

13. Strategy for Chemistry :-

There is a simple rule , study Physical Chemistry just like Physics and Inorganic just like Biology . Keep NCERT centric approach for Inorganic and Organic Chemistry .

For PHYSICAL chemistry, take notes of your lecture and revise them and solve the questions practiced during lecture, then jump on to  the PYQs . Make formula sheet of every chapter and revise them on a regular basis.

For ORGANIC chemistry , you will have to remember the concept and with repetitive question practice you can easily memorise them . Give proper time to  the basics of organic chemistry as this will be the deciding factor for your good command on this subject . Solve every questions given in NCERT as they are very important ones . Name Reactions given in NCERT should also be on your fingertips .

For INORGANIC chemistry , read NCERT daily , be mindful of the exceptions , note every point that you often forget and paste it in front of your table and revise them daily . Solving different types of question and PYQs will help you remember the important points . If you follow honestly  whatever is mentioned , you will easily score 150+ in chemistry.

14. Strategy for Biology :-

Biology carries 50 percent weightage of your NEET paper which makes it the most important subject as this subject will be the deciding factor for your selection . NCERT Biology textbooks for Class 11 and 12 are essential. Read them thoroughly and make sure you understand the concepts well. NEET questions are often framed directly from NCERT textbooks. Pay extra attention to topics that are frequently asked in NEET. Topics like Human Physiology, Ecology, Genetics, Plant Morphology, and Animal Kingdom are generally important. Regularly revise the concepts you have studied. Create a revision schedule to cover all topics multiple times before the exam. Studying in this manner will easily get you a safe score of 330+ in biology .

15. Bonus point :-

While studying for long hours daily and continuously feeding you brain with such enormous amount of informations , you will feel like you are forgetting everything . Don’t get discouraged with this feeling , keep revising and trust yourself , when you will see the question paper on the exam day  , everything related to the topic will come in your mind and u will get your answer correct .
